Silk, Satin and Sateen
Due to similar sounding names, it is easyto get confused between sulk, satin and sateen. Silk is a strong, natural fiber. Satin is a polished synthetic fabric; usually nylon. Although it is often used in luxury bedding, it is not as strong as silk. It is also more difficult to clean. Sateen bed sheets are different from satin sheets. The former are also smooth and lustrous, however, “Sateen” is a kind of weave, while “satin” is a kind of material. Sateen sheets are made of natural fibers and are not as expensive as satin sheets.
